Thanks to a partnership between Rencontres and René-Lévesque school board, thirteen student groups from Baie-des-Chaleurs will be taking guided tours of exhibits between September 20 and 30 as part of the program “La culture à l’école” (Culture in Schools).
Coming from two primary and secondary schools in Pointe-à-la-Croix and Paspébiac, the students will get to see the work of Isabelle Hayeur and Serge Clément at Centre d’artistes Vaste et Vague, the photographic book exhibit at Quai des arts in Carleton-sur-Mer and the exhibit by Valérian Mazataud at the cultural center in Paspébiac.
This cultural-mediation work will help young people understand and interpret an isolated photograph or pictures in a series, through the artist’s particular lens. They will be exposed to different artistic approaches, including documentary, art video, photographic composition and stage installation.
