With the approach of the launch of the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée, an event that will run from June 30 to July 9, 2016, Rencontres has hastened to install the exhibit by French artist Claudia Imbert. Entitled “Petite-Vallée,” it will be on display until early October on the walls of the Théâtre de la Vieille Forge in the Village en chanson.
As part of the France-Québec project “The Gaspé–Picardy for Photography,” Claudia Imbert was invited to the Gaspé in June 2015 to do a creative residency. She spent two weeks in Petite-Vallée, working in partnership with the residents there as well as with collaborators from the Village en chanson. From that experience in the municipality the eponymous photo series “Petite-Vallée” was born.
Originally composed of eight portraits constructed with precision and great style and presented in the summer of 2015 in the Pointe Taylor woods at New Richmond, the exhibition has been enriched this year by the addition of three new images.
